PED 7160 - Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
Description
(1) Basic principles of pediatric hematology/oncology for the generalist; (2) clinical microscopy of blood and bone marrow; (3) skills in procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirations and starting I.V.s; and (4) comprehensive team management. This elective includes a large volume of inpatient and outpatient material, hands-on practical experience, and one-to-one teaching. A lecture series in pediatric hematology/oncology is included. Research opportunities within the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology are also available.
