Course
INTMD 7643 - Advanced Inpatient Cardiology Elective
Description
The inpatient cardiology rotation provides Phase 3 medical students with hands-on experience in the diagnosis
and management of hospitalized patients with cardiovascular conditions. Students will work as part of a
multidisciplinary team, rounding on patients, participating in daily rounds, patient care planning, and evidence-
based decision-making. Common conditions encountered include acute coronary syndromes, heart failure,
arrhythmias, valvular disease, and post-procedural care.
Prior to starting the rotation, please connect with the senior resident on the rotation, to identify the appropriate arrival time and location,
and for a brief orientation.
Students are expected to operate at the level of an advanced student on this rotation, and as such, should be
familiar with the workflow and expectations of an inpatient rotation.
