Course Details

Course: RDLGY 7066 - Women's Imaging Elective

Description: Radiology 7066 is a 2-week elective providing a general overview of women's imaging. The course will serve as an introduction to gynecologic, obstetric, and mammographic imaging and is designed for medical students interested in pursuing a career in radiology, obstetrics and gynecology, or general surgery with a focus on breast surgeries. Modalities discussed will include mammography and ultrasound with time divided between breast imaging, general abdominal ultrasound with a focus on gynecologic ultrasound, and obstetric ultrasound. Hands-on scanning opportunities will be available in collaboration with the sonographer team. At the conclusion of the two-week course, students should gain a familiarity with the different modalities for imaging gynecologic, obstetric, and mammographic pathology.
