MD ID 6610 - Utah Indian Health (HSS)
Description
This course is a two-week, in-person, block course that includes small group discussions and site visits to tribal land. Students will examine the Indian Health System as a real-world case study to teach essential concepts in Health Systems Science. Students gain firsthand exposure to the structures, policies, financing mechanisms, public-health functions, population health priorities, and care models that shape health delivery for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities in Utah.
