Description
A Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship is a model of clinical education in which students participate in the comprehensive care of patients over time, engage in continuity of relationships with preceptors, patients, health system & the surrounding community, while meeting core clinical competencies across multiple disciplines simultaneously. The specialties included in this introductory clinical experience include Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Surgery. Settings for clinical experiences will be predominately outpatient with intermittent inpatient immersions. The Inquiry Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship emphasizes advancing health by supporting students in their pursuits to understanding health care systems, team-based care, and inquiry into the roots of health and the causes of disease.
