MD ID 7766 - Medical School Admissions: Policy, Practice, and Impact
Description
This advanced, interest-driven elective is offered for 2 credits on a pass/fail basis to MS4's who have
successfully completed the Medical School Admissions Experience MD ID 7240. The course deepens students'
understanding of the policies, practices, and impact of medical school admissions while fostering leadership,
analytical, and organizational skills.
Students will explore how admissions decisions shape the future of academic medicine and health care,
engage in applied learning through participation in the admissions process, and critically evaluate how
institutional policies and practices influence physician workforce needs. The knowledge and skills gained will
not only enhance students' insight into the residency application process but also prepare them for future
leadership roles within academic medicine and higher education.
