MD ID 6580 - RUUTE Community Preceptorship
Description
The RUUTE Community Preceptorship elective will allow medical students to explore medical practice in rural communities across Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Students will be exposed to the diverse training pathways that lend themselves to rural practice by having the opportunity to rotate with one or many preceptors including Family Medicine, Med-Peds, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Psychiatry, Neurology, Surgery and/or Emergency Medicine across the community. Other specialties will be considered on a case by case basis. Students will be exposed to a diverse range of healthcare delivery systems, observing how these systems serve clinicians, patients and communities as a whole.

This course can be taken concurrently with RUUTE Community Engagement Experience (CEE). Students must enroll in both courses individually.
