OPHTH 7700 - Neuro-Ophthalmology
Description
This four-week clinical elective provides a firsthand experience with evaluation and diagnosis of conditions that involve the central nervous system & its effect on vision. Students will work with our Neuro-Ophthalmology team of 5 physicians and be expected to participate in daily morning meetings, case presentation, & reading assignments. Some of the conditions seen may include; disc swelling from papilledema, ischemic optic neuropathy, optic neuritis and papillitis, cranial nerve palsies, inflammatory muscle disease, diplopia from sources including Grave's disease, and visual aspects of migraine. Students may be scheduled at a Moran satellite clinic as our physicians travel to different locations.
