INTMD 7983 - Wilderness Medicine - Advanced Wilderness Life Support
Description
This course will be a 2-week elective in which you can earn the Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) certificate offered by the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah. Session topics include wilderness patient assessment, hypothermia and hyperthermia, wilderness wound management, water treatment, HAPE, AMS, HACE, children in the wilderness, nature deficit disorder and other injuries and illnesses unique to the back country. www.wildmedu.org is the site where students will learn and test.

All of the AWLS courses are online except tor the course from March 29 to April 11th, 2027 This is taught in Moab, Utah Look at www.awls.info then to AWLS for more information.
