SURG 7710 - Introduction to Vascular Surgery Research
Description
Brief Description of Course:

An independent research course arranged between the individual student and the individual research mentor. The intent of the course is to provide students with experience in evidence based clinical research and/or health professions education research that is relevant to vascular surgery.

Course Objectives:

As a result of successfully completing the SURG 7710, students will be able to:

1. Effectively discuss:

a. The scientific question addressed by the research.

b. His/her contribution to addressing the scientific question.

c. The research in the larger context of the practice of vascular surgery.


2. Complete Human Subject Research and Good Clinical Practice trainings via the CITI Program.


3. Complete an IRB proposal for a clinical or educational research project.


4. Write a scientific abstract on a clinical or educational research project.


5. Prepare a manuscript for submission to a peer-reviewed publication.
