Course
MD ID 7220 - Medical Students as Teachers
Description
The Medical Students as Teachers elective prepares medical students to become effective teachers for their residency and beyond by participating in one of the UUSOM preclinical or clinical courses in an instructional role. Students will receive didactic instruction from educational experts on learning objectives, pedagogy, assessment, feedback, and evaluation. Students will apply knowledge and skills gained from didactics and reading to take part in structured and monitored teaching activities. The type of teaching project will be determined by a student's individual learning plan and area of interest (e.g., teaching at the bedside/in clinic, teaching in small group, teaching in large group, etc.). Students will receive guidance and feedback on their teaching project from a UUSOM faculty mentor.
