INTMD 7983 - Wilderness Medicine - Advanced Wilderness Life Support
Description
This very useful and interesting outdoor medicine course is a 2-week elective in which you can earn the Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) certificate offered by the University of Utah School of Medicine. This is the most important certificate for a medical professional to have earned. Session topics include wilderness patient assessment, hypothermia and hyperthermia, wilderness wound management, water treatment, HAPE, AMS, HACE, and other injuries and illnesses unique to the back country.

Log on to www.wildmedu.org to see the resource site where you will study and learn wilderness medicine.

A welcome letter will be sent to you about one week before the course starts with more instructions.

After you study, you will need to take the AWLS certification exam. A certificate will automatically be sent to you when you pass..
