Course: ORTHO 7440 - MS4 Orthopaedic Surgery Sub-Internship

Description: Takes place at University of Utah Medical Center (UUMC), Primary Children's Hospital (PCH), University of Utah Orthopaedic Center (UOC), or Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). A minimum of 4 weeks is required. The rotation will be split into two weeks amongst the following subspecialties: Trauma/Hand, Joints/Foot & Ankle, Pediatrics/Sports, Spine/Tumor. The services for each two week rotations are set in place and not changeable. Students will be pre-assigned to a block and given the name of the senior resident to contact before arriving. Students will be expected to be involved directly in patient care and will be allocated responsibilities commensurate with their abilities. Attendance at Grand Rounds, Core Curriculum, and Sub-Specialty Conferences is required.
