INTMD 7641 - Advanced Inpatient Medical Oncology
Description
This two-week clinical elective is designed for medical students interested in inpatient medical oncology
through the lens of general internal medicine. Students rotate at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and are
supervised by internal medicine hospitalists specializing in the care of hospitalized patients with cancer. The
course emphasizes diagnosis and management of complications of solid malignancies and cancer-directed
therapies and includes protected time for a structured asynchronous curriculum. This online curriculum
consists of modular clinical teaching materials focused on core inpatient topics; our goal is to help medical
students develop the knowledge necessary to diagnose and manage common complications of solid
malignancies and cancer therapies.
