Course: MD ID 7761 - Leadership Experience

Description: This 0.5 elective course invites medical students to explore their formal leadership roles held during medical
school, offering a space to process their leadership experiences, read current leadership literature, apply
leadership principles in real time, and present on their lessons learned. Designed to empower future physician
leaders, this course merges reflective exploration with processing of leadership experiences to cultivate self-
awareness that is ethical, empathetic, and impactful in complex healthcare environments. This elective will
consist of readings of relevant and timely leadership articles, four self-reflections essays, 1:1 meetings with
course directors, and a final presentation on lessons learned.
