INTMD 7982 - Wilderness Medicine - Backpacking Learning Experience
Description
Welcome to Backpacking Medicine. This unique course is for anyone interested in the medicine associated with backpacking, hiking and trekking. If you like to get into the backcountry then you need to learn the medicine of backpacking.
Here are the subjects that you will study: First Aid Kits, Foot Problems, Stream Crossing, Water Treatment, Sunscreens, Dental Problem on the Trail, Lightning, Clothing for the Wilderness, Backpacks and Pain, Flash Floods ,Children in the Wilderness, Eating Right Before the Hike, Risks of Altitude, Menstrual Periods in the Wilderness.

Logon to: www.wildmedu.org this is the resource site where you will learn and pass the exams.

A welcome letter will be mailed to you about one week before the class starts with more instructions. After you study, you will need to pass the Backpacking Medicine certification exam. It will be emailed to you right when you finish and pass the exam.

All of these courses are taught online except for the April 12th to April 25th course. This is taught in Zion National Park. Look at www.awlss.info then to the Backpacking Medicine course for more details.
