Course: INTMD 7984 - Wilderness Medicine in the Alps

Description: This fantastic course will change your life. It is taught in Chamonix-Mt. Blanc in the French Alps. We teach medicine in the wilderness, where no medical help is available. And you will participate in important wilderness medicine research including altitude illness and nature deficit disorder. You will study with other medical students from around the world. You will earn the AWLS and Backpacking Medicine certificates. Practical skills are taught so that a medical student knows how to manage neck injuries, move an injured patient and treat common fractures, dislocations and wounds. You will hike each day in the majestic mountains around Mt. Blanc. It is a must if you do any backcountry activities. Look at www.chamonixwildmed.org to look at the video and learn more on this site.
