DERM 7690 - Dermatology Clinical Clerkship
Description
The clinical dermatology clerkship provides a comprehensive overview of outpatient dermatology with biopsy training and integrated lectures. Students will learn the basics of skin disease (including the correct use of the terminology), pathophysiology of common conditions, and treatments for common dermatologic conditions.

OPTION for out of state location:
Community Rotation in Nampa, Idaho, directed by Dr. Ryan Owsley, rsodermmd@gmail.com (Adjunct Instructor with Department of Dermatology)
The Idaho site provides the medical student with a unique opportunity to view the practice of dermatology in a solo independent private practice. In addition to a broad introduction to the specialty the student will be exposed to a significant amount of skin cancer and the challenges of diagnosis and treatment in a more rural setting. To enroll in an Idaho rotation, please email Dr. Owsley for permission to enroll. Forward the approval to Amanda Thorn (amanda.thorn@hsc.utah.edu) and Mike Aldred (mike.aldred@hsc.utah.edu).
