INTMD 7650 - Infectious Disease Clinical Clerkship
Description
Clinical and laboratory experiences in the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases. This 2-4 week clinical elective is intended for medical students interested in Infectious Diseases (ID) or who would like to increase specific ID knowledge in the specialties they intend to pursue during residency. Students are expected to work with the infectious diseases fellow to determine which patients they will follow and present on a daily basis. Due to the diversity of cases the ID service sees, students interested in non-IM specialties often select patients relevant to their intended career path. This rotation involves Monday-Friday participation on an inpatient service.

The 4-week elective includes the option for one week of ID clinic, although a week of ID clinic can be done on the 2-week rotation upon request. 1 credit hour will be awarded per week of rotation. Please feel free to email Adele Hamilton if you have any questions.
