INTMD 7981 - Wilderness Medicine - Search and Rescue
Description
April 18th to May 1st, 2022. Students will learn the common issues and methods of searching and rescuing injured patients in the backcountry. The course is taught in part by members from Salt Lake County Search and Rescue (SAR). The course will be taught in and around Salt Lake City. About 50% of the time the students will be in the classroom and the other 50% of the time they will be in the field. There will be final search and rescue scenario in which all students will participate. Topics include Incident Command, Lost Person Behavior, Search Techniques, Navigation, Patient Assessment.
