FP MD 7812 - HPIH Resilience in Healthcare
Description
This course will continue to expand students' knowledge in the Health Promotion Integrative Health Pathway by looking at the specific needs of health care workers. Burnout in health care is at an all-time high, yet students enter medical school as highly resilient and compassionate individuals. This course will evaluate the protective factors that help individuals and health systems succeed in providing compassionate patient centered care while attending to self-care and work-life integration. Students will review the principles of resilience that help physicians and patients lead fulfilling lives and explore how to recognize individuals at risk. The course will examine system issues that can build sustainable workplaces and support physicians in optimal patient care. *WILL NOT BE OFFERED AY2425*
