Course: MD ID 7145 - Healthcare Team Immersion

Description: This course is intended to provide medical students hands-on experience in nursing, pharmacy, and other disciplines' roles to enhance their understanding of interprofessional practice during Phase 3. Through direct participation in corresponding shifts, students will gain insight into the scope of practice, challenges, and responsibilities of these allied health colleagues. The course is designed to foster empathy, strengthen communication, and cultivate a collaborative mindset to promote a more integrative and effective healthcare team. By the end of the course students will have a deeper appreciation for the contributions of other healthcare workers, as well as being better prepared to work in a multidisciplinary team throughout the rest of their time as students, residents, and attendings.
