PED 7225 - Pediatric Cadiology Camp - Camp Hawkins
Description
As camp "medical counselors," students will participate in the care of children, 4-18 years of age, at Camp Hawkins, a summer camp for children with heart disease and their siblings. During camp, participants will give home medications, provide first aid to staff and campers, and triage pediatric cardiac patients who have symptoms. This elective will provide students with an in-depth experience in ambulatory care of youth with congenital heart disease (CHD) and the challenges associated with chronic pediatric medical conditions in general.
