INTMD 7994 - The Doctor-Patient Relationship in Literature & the Arts: Medicine in Art
Description
Many forms of art-visual, performance, cinematic, literary, etc.-portray aspects of medicine. We will consider a wide range of artworks that represent figures or concepts from medicine. How do certain artworks explore the artists' relationships to the medical practices of their times? How does making or viewing artworks shape and enhance medical practice? Why and how is the term "art" used in discussions of medicine?
This course will meet in person, as we will be creating art during each session.
