MD ID 6675 - Active learning in population health: case studies, data analysis, and clinical applications
Description
Students will learn various strategies to examine health from a population level perspective. This course will provide a refresher on the basic principles of epidemiology & biostatistics. Students will gain hands-on experience by examining several public data repositories where population health level data can be accessed & analyzed. The course will have a focus on discussing social & environmental conditions in which affect the health & wellbeing of populations. Students will also engage in methods for recognizing & addressing various biases in research, including personal biases. Learning will include a blend of self-directed & active learning methods.
